Addr.com

I’ve been very impressed with addr web hosting. I am the webmaster for several domains, on several different hosting services, and Addr.com has been the most hassle free of them all. Some of the best points about their service for me are:

Price: They are VERY low priced compared to many similar services. $10 per month can get you 50 megabytes of space, with front page extensions, pop and smtp e-mail, and cgi bin. (note: be very careful with OTHER cheap hosting services, often they don’t offer smtp or cgi bin … so make sure you read the details! ).

FTP speed: The ftp transfer rate with my addr.com account has been the fastest of any of the hosts I’ve used. I’ve never had any problems connecting.

Uptime: my sites on other hosting services have had temporary downtime, but with Addr.com I have not noticed any downtime whatsoever.

Customer Service: The system is pretty well set up, so I have only had to contact customer service 3 times, twice by e-mail and one telephone call. The phone call support was very knowledgeable, polite, and answered my question in about 3 minutes. Responses to e-mail generally took about 3 hours or so… not awesome, but not too bad either.

Are there any drawbacks to Addr.com?
The only complaints I would have is that if you ever wanted to move your site to its own dedicated server, than those options are not available at addr.com. So if you have a site that will likely grow to that level, I would recommend choosing a host that could move your site to a dedicated server.

Also, while the online help does answer most of my questions. It seems they could revamp it to be clearer, and to make the information more accessible. It takes a bit too much searching on their site to find what you need.

Overall I have been VERY happy with ADDR.com and their quality of service… and would definitely recommend them to a friend, as well as host my new sites on them.
