| dmxrob's Full Review: DocuPrint M750 Printer |
We seem to have a trend, largely due to the success of the iMac, whereas all computer componets nowadays have to have the "cute" factor built in. You know, everything has to have that colored, translucent look. Unless it has that, it must not be worthy -- right?
Well, enter the Xerox M750. When it comes to looks it ranks probably dead last. However, for those of you who want performance you will quickly forget about how it looks and grab this sucker and take it home. It is, by far, the best printer I have used in over 15 years.
The #1 feature of this that everyone should pay attention to is how it stores and uses ink. Instead of having two cartridges, a color and a black ink, it has 4 seperate ink holders -- cyan, yellow and red, plus black. No more wasted ink. You change the catridge for only what has run out, and never throw another drop of ink away again!
As many of you know, the printer manufacturers love to get you with the price of ink cartridges. Many color carts run for about $40 for some major printer names. However, Xerox charges less than $13 for each cartridge.
USB or Parallel Port? You decide! This little guy even supports Macintosh!
When it comes to output be prepared for the show of your life. Photo-quality output will have you friends swearing that you ar showing them real photos. Even regular print will amaze you. The 1200x1200 resolution is amazing, and the speed will leave even the most paper-hungry computer user happy.
Overall, for $99 you get a printer that is versatile, affordable, durable and most of all --- amazing.
