Ease of Use:
Pros:Vibrant colors, sharp images, good saturation, onscreen controls
Cons:bad pincushin/pinching effect on sides and corners
I recently made the switch to the flat screen world by purchasing the G500. I was overall fairly impressed with the monitor, sharp images, good color, good saturation, all things I'd been told to expect from a AG monitor. I had been using a now discontinued Optiquest V115 21" which was not a flat screen. After some initial setup tunings I discovered that the monitor edges especially in the corners would not render straight lines. The pinching effect was quite noticeable in high res. Photoshop and tables and spreadsheats such as Excel. I tried in vain to correct this with the excellent on screen controls but could not get it to a satisfactory level of correctness. I'm not sure whether this was a flawed unit or not. As far as gaming it is perfect, just not for more critical apps. As it stands now I'm more impressed with my old fishbowl Optiquest which is definitely not flat but at least it's true.
