| rdmv's Full Review: Kodak PictureMaker Kiosk Printer |
I purchased a Kodak digital camera several months ago and have been looking at different ways to print my pictures. I've been printing some of them at home on my computer on a Lexmark 5770 printer (I'll have to write a review about that later).
Then I came across the Kodak Picture Maker, which seems to be in every drugstore around and in WalMart, K-mart, Target ,etc. (You'll see a tall yellow box with a computer screen in it).
Well, I can take the memory card out of my digital camera and stick it in the Picture Maker and print them right there in a few minutes. When you put the memory card in, you can look through your pictures and choose the one you want and the size or sizes you want to print. Then you can crop and zoom the picture, add text to it, add a fancy border. You can even get rid of the red eyes that some people have in flash pictures.
The sizes you can make are a full 8x10 or you can print several smaller sizes on one sheet. They charge you by the sheet. Usually about $6 a sheet, but there always seems to be a coupon in the Sunday paper for a few dollars off.
The prints are nice and glossy and appear to be very strong - meaning that they are difficult to tear. The colors are really great and nice and clear.
You can also use the Picture Maker if you want to copy snap shots that you already have and want to make bigger or smaller or crop or add borders to it.
This is the fastest and best quality I've been able to get from my digital camera. I really can't tell the difference between these prints and the ones I get from my regular camera.
