The Iomega External 250 MB Zip Drive can be a really handy piece of computer hardware. You can carry it anywhere, including from work to home, and one disk is all you need.
I purchased this product for a easy way to move a lot of data from home to anywhere I need to go. I also needed a disk drive to hold more than the traditional floppy, and something a little more dependable than the floppy.
The drive easily hooks up to anywhere with a USB port. You could even hook it up to your Playstation 2. The drive itself is basically easy to use. Put it in the USB port, start up the CD-ROM installer and bring up your data. You can also password protect your disks to keep from anybody's prying eyes. I love the drive. I can carry it anywhere, and work on any computer. The disks are also a really cool thing to have. Even the older 100 MB models of disks work with the 250.
There is no competition for the Zip Drive. Although I recommend the Memorex brand of disks rather than the traditional Iomega ones, the Memorex are cheaper and more reliable.
The Zip Drive is really reliable. The only problem that I have with it, is the fact that it can sometimes be really hard to install the software you need to an older computer. The installation process is also a little slow.
For portable, reliable storage, I strongly recommend buy either a Zip 100 or a Zip 250.
