Just don't get caught in the Bathhouse...

Pros:Very fun, good layout
Cons:Loading is slow, big fights take forever

Every once in a while I come over a game. A game that does not crash every time I open it. A game that is not hard but challenging. A game that has a good interface. And most importantly, a game where killing IS SO MUCH FUN!

I came across the game about two weeks ago. My friend pirated it to me. (Just joking, I'll delete it soon then I'll buy it.) It takes place in Earth around 2241, some decades after the first game. You are the chosen one, chosen to save your Indian village from extinction. (This is a post-nuclear war game, where almost the entire Earth is desert.) The only way to save them is to find the Garden of Eden Creation Kit, to make the village lush.

Is saving the village my motive? No! It takes too long gathering weapons and increasing you character level to get ready for Vault 13, where the Kit is at. Doing jobs and killing robbers and slaves has been what I've been doing the past week. The interesting thing is every town you come across (must be a fifty!) has their own problem, own characters, and you can spend the time trying to be a hero in all of them.

I have only two complaints about the game. It takes nearly a minute to load saved games and half that time to go from one area in the city to the next. And in fights involving more than ten people, it last forever. I would suggest having a button you can press in order to speed the computer up in fights.

The interface is very good. A bar taking up an fifth of the screen directly shows weapons and combat information. One click takes you to different skills you can use, the map, and the character display.
The character display is very detailed, with 10 statistics of overall strength, agility, intelligence, and other things. 20 skill percentages are listed. There are about 10 special traits you get every 3 levels you increase. How much all the towns respect is also there.

Fallout 2, you have gained the position of the few, the proud, the Mar...k's Top Games!
