Everyone has played Warcraft (I or II). Take the fun, double it. Take the strategy, triple it. Take the graphics, well, let's put it this way. Myth (a 1997 game!) makes Warcraft II look like one of those old Apple II games.
It is real-time strategy, a TRUE real time strategy. You see, if you've ever thought about it, in Warcraft II it takes longer to chop down a tree than to train a dragon. Myth doesn't have any of these cheesy little things in it. It incorporates all the elements that make war real. No resources, no buildings to build, no units to train (have you ever thought about how long it would really take to train a unit like a swordsman?). It has real-life war tactics such as formation marching, and FRIENDLY FIRE. Now you might think, friendly fire!, why would I want that? That could only just hurt me. Well, I guess that is a downside to some, but to others like me who want to use tactics like they really used in the middle ages, it is great.
A great thing about the game now is that you can get Myth I:The Fallen Lords, Myth II:Soulblighter, and several other add-ons in the same box for $19,99!!!!! WOW!! So don't think that this game is going to take a barrel of cash out of your pocketbook.
But the best part of the game has to be it's 3D graphics. The graphics themselves aren't that great, but the 3D view is to die for! One time I just sat around revolving my camera angle. The only downside is that since you can do so much to the viewpoint, you get kind of dizzy and lost on the map, but you soon get used to this.
Myth is addicting, it is strategic is a real-life sort of way, and it's totally 3D, it is a game that you cannot stop playing or thinking about.
