I think this is an average to above average product, but I think you can probably find a better solution to what you are looking for if you take a little longer to check out the competition.
I gave this product a 7 out of 10.
Background:
I am a 25-year-old male engineering and computer science student living in SC. I do have a large humanities background.
Overview:
Basically this item sales itself on the fact that it doubles as both a webcam and a portable digital camera. Unfortunately when one things tries to do to many things well it ends up not doing any of them well. And that has happened to this product. It is okay as a webcam and it is decent as a portable digital camera.
The portable digital camera is the worst part. Part of it has to do with the fact that you don't have an LCD screen to see what you are taking a picture of. And those cheap little plastic viewfinders don't do it.
I do think that it is a pretty good webcam but since you could get the same quality for a much lower price these days I don't think that means too much. You pay a lot for the digital camera part and don't really get that great of a return for it.
If you need a digital camera then you need to spend the money to get one. You will get what you pay for with these things. If you can only afford the Webcam Go then you can probably make do with it for little things like eBay pictures and some Web graphics uses but that is all. Don't you dare take pictures of your family with this thing.
Basically I am happy with my WebCam Go but I did expect more. But it only had to do a few little things and it can do that but not much more. If you need more you then you are going to have to pay more or let it go.
