I have had this CD writer for quite some time. Until I began looking at other units I was thoroughly impressed with this drive. There is nothing really wrong with it by any means. But there is nothing amazing about it either. It does the job just well enough to be called O.K. If I could change anything it would be the Adaptec CD writer software that comes with this drive. Its a little confusing, and I have messed up at least 10 CD's. Probably my own fault, but I have looked at the software that comes with the Sony drives, and it it so much easier. The prices have come down on this drive recently, as it doesn't have much to offer against the competition. I paid almost $269, but I have seen them now for less than $199. If you don't want anything special, and you don't mind spending a little time learning the software, go for it.
