I signed up for this service yesterday - after reading a review of it here at Epinions. First impression - the idea is excellent. It's good that the program lets you rate the jokes, so it can adjust to your taste. I also like the fact that it's highly customizable - being able to tell how many jokes to receive daily, what kind, how long and in what format (text, image, etc).
One thing I noticed - since I told ELOL I don't mind adult jokes, I've been getting a very large percentage of these - in fact, every graphic I got was of 'adult humor' type. Not that I mind - it certainly lifts the mood and some of the pictures are plain hilarious!
Oh, yeah, I also like the fact that it's using it's own interface for delivering jokes, as opposed to regular mail program. This allows me to read at my own pace - and does not clutter my mailbox.
21 Mar 2000 update: still not sure what criteria ELOL uses for selecting joke types. After barrage of adult humor in first couple of days, I hardly get any of it now.
