| riznick's Full Review: Advanced Disk Catalog |
Do you have a CD burner? Have you burnt lots of small programs and such onto many CD’s? Do you burn mp3's? For those of you who have CD burners, this program is a MUST HAVE. It is a cataloging program. A directory listing program if you will. It is one of my most useful utilities.
It starts off with the Microsoft Explorer type of feel. You see all the drives you have archived on a left frame. In the right frame, it contains the contents of the selected drive on the left frame. You can give each file on the drive a category. This is great for doing searches.
Reports: You can make reports as well and print them out. This is a good feature that you can use to give lists of files to other people. You can create reports using all types of criteria. There are plenty of settings in ADC to help you out.
My Experience
I currently have over 80 CD's filled with mp3's. Each CD contains about 200 songs. Now, that is about 16000 songs. How am I supposed to keep track of them all? Without this program I would have to search and scour through all my CD's for the song I want to hear.
With this program though, I can just type in the name of the song I want to hear, and it will tell me the CD that it’s on. I put in the CD, and I can even set ADC to run the mp3 for me. Its that simple.
When I want to search through all my rock, I search the rock category. When I am looking for the entire rap archive I have, I search the rap category. I can even print out reports by categories. It is a great cataloging program.
