I feel I should respond to Slickfish, being that I'm the one many of those comments were aimed at.

I first got addicted to watching Heroes of Might and Magic II. My ex-boyfriend and his friends would sit around playing, while I and the other girlfriends were gone or sitting around doing homework.

It wasn't until I bought my current boyfriend Heroes II and the expansion set that I started playing it myself, and discovering what I'd missed by simply watching it. My boyfriend then turned around and got me Heroes III. Then he went to class, and I sat around all day and played. In fact, even after he came back I continued to play. And can anyone who's played it blame me? Playing Heroes is much better than watching it.

I admit that I'm not a terribly good strategist. I prefer the turn by turn strategy, instead of the real time strategy of games like Warcraft. I like controlling each encounter.

I also admit that I am highly addicted to Heroes III. The graphics are much better than Heroes II, not to mention the tons of different types of castles and heroes.

My only complaints are with the campaign games. I thought they were way too short. Each one is made up of three parts that get progressively harder. Also, you can't choose what kind of hero you want to be--that's determined by which campaign game you choose. One of the things that I really liked about Heroes II was the storyline, the quintessential good brother fighting against the bad brother, which was made up of at least 10 parts.

Regardless, it's still a good game. And maybe the expansion set to Heroes III has more of the storyline that Heroes II does. I hope so.
