| nollequeen's Full Review: Belkin Ergo Mouse |
We didn’t buy the Belkin mouse for any reason other than its color. We have a black Toshiba Infinia and had exhausted the Microsoft Mouse that came with it. Microsoft apparently no longer makes black mice (a black mouse?). After schlepping around to a handful of computer stores and belatedly checking out every available computer shopping website, I discovered that Belkin makes the only available black mouse, so I ordered it. It was quite inexpensive, only $10.00 (plus whatever the shipping cost was).
It’s an ergo mouse which means it is contoured to the shape of your hand. My hand apparently, and not my husband’s hand. I love it. He hates it. It has three buttons (we only use two) and a hollowed out space on the left side of the mouse where your thumb is supposed to comfortably fit. My thumb fits there, but that just isn’t how I hold the mouse. I actually hold my thumb to the left of the thumb rest, but still find it fairly comfortable.
It’s alleged ergo-qualities are lost on my husband but he says he is willing to make the sacrifice for the sake of color coordination. What he really wants is a black Microsoft Intellimouse with a roller ball in it to aid him in browsing the web. But alas, such a thing is not yet available.
We have had this mouse for 6 months or so now and it has stood up to the test of time (unlike a lot of other Belkin user epinions that I have read). I play a lot of computer games and hubby spends a lot of time clicking away at the This Old House Website every night and our little mouse is still going strong. We recommend it highly not just for its color but for its lasting sturdiness and inexpensive price.
