I've looked for a notebook for more than 2 weeks. Like everybody, I wanted the best at the lowest price (apart people who want to buy a brand)! I think that I found the good notebook that corresponds to what I want. Why?
The Sager NP8530 notebook is the best deal you can find.
My technical criteria were as follows:
a 15.1" screen,
a good CPU,
more than 10 Gb hard drive,
64 Mb RAM memory,
a TV-out port and a DVD drive,
the ATI rage LT Pro video card,...
This notebook costs a lot if you choose a known brand ($3500.00 to $4000.00).
I customized the Sager notebook. I chose the "recommended systems" notebook at the Sager home website for $2,295.00 (http://www.sagernotebook.com/pages/notebooks/product.cfm?ProductType=8530). If I bought a brand notebook (Compaq, Toshiba, Dell,...), I would have paid $1000.00 more! And I would not have been able to CUSTOMIZE IT!
That is very good as well is that the floppy disk drive is removable. You can thus add another hard drive or a zip drive. You can UPGRADE your notebook!
There is another brand that proposes good prices for notebook: Prostar (www.2001prostar.com). They have the same products than Sager at approximately the same price.
I hope that my review will help you if you want to buy a notebook at the lowest price.
