I bought my Gateway early this year when my Mac (yes, I was a devoted Mac user for years)didn't have enough memory for me to file my tax return online. When I went to buy more memory, my monitor started to go out. Since Performas are all one unit, I found that it wasn't worth spending the money to upgrade my memory.
Long story short-- I got mad at Apple for their lack of service so I went to Gateway and ordered a computer the same day. I've found it to be one of the easiest computers to navigate and have been very impressed with all of the "bells and whistles".
As a high school English teacher, I have used my computer for everything from lesson plans to grading programs to Internet research. At home, I have used it for family finance, databases, and the kids' homework and CD games.
Since I bought the computer, I've added a great printer and scanner which are also extremely compatible and easy to use. I have more memory and upgrade options than I ever dreamed possible!
By the way, the tax return I filed online with my new computer netted a refund that paid for it!!!
