The 34.99 clearance price was worth it.

| PonyLoper's Full Review: Philips PC Camera |
I run a web-site with a few webcams. The Philips USB cam sits over my infant son's cradle, providing sharp graphics and an excellent, fully-featured TWAIN driver.
The "base" the unit sits on, should you choose to use it, is laughable. It is nothing more than leftover factory rubber designed to mold around the round base of the camera. The camera does have a traditional base screw-jack for use with a tripod. I fashioned my own wall-mount using two inches of wire clothes-hanger and one screw.
The camera has an indicator light that is green when the unit is active. However, with a streaming video application such as I am using, the light is ALWAYS green, therefore meaningless.
Regrettably, the TWAIN driver seems to have a memory leak and always, after a certain number of hours, causes my streaming video application to freeze. I have updated my video driver, camera driver, DIRECTX drivers, USB driver, and streaming video application to no avail. I use the streaming video application with another video capture device with no problems, so I think the camera's TWAIN driver is the problem.
I found the unit on the clearance table at a national computer superstore and was able to talk the assistant manager down to 34.99, which, for me, makes the unit acceptable.
