| Wisky's Full Review: Altec Lansing ACS 22 Computer Speakers |
If you want heart thumping bass, and sharp screeching treble, you may want to turn away from these low end Altec Lancing speakers. I don't exactly have these speakers, but they look similar. The speakers I have are Altec Lancing, but are specially made to hook/latch on to the older HP Pavilion PC Monitor, so they are shaped differently. On to the basics!
Sound Bass: You can hear the bass, and can clearly distinguish the bass from treble, with an equalizer on your media player, you can test these speakers by putting the bass REALLY high, and everything else to nothing, then put them really loud. You can hear it, but not feel it, also, you can clearly see the speakers extend and pump because of the high load they are being put through. they withstand load of high bass very well! Only the sound is not the best, I’ll give bass a C-.
Sound Midrange: In-between bass and treble is midrange. this is usually vocals, Vocals are OK, but not exceptional, they can be scratchy if loud, and a user can tell that you are using low quality computer speakers, B-.
Sound Treble: ssss, tisk, that would be sounds that show treble. Treble on this speaker is good, I personally like bass more, but when listening to techno, or rock, you need good treble, and these speakers can give you the treble you need. A-
Overall: These speakers can withstand ALOT! I've been to Max and back, and no damage at all! I've had them since I bought my old HP in 96, and still perform as new. I hope to upgrade to high end computer speakers soon, because I listen to music daily, and these speakers are starting to deceive my high expectations.
