| cfreyer's Full Review: Samsung SyncMaster 955SL |
I bought this monitor because my 17" monitor died right before Christmas. I decided to get another 17" because 21" screens and flat panels are still too expensive. And I need a very clear image because I'm a software developer and stare at my screens all day and night. A bad image results in eye strain and headaches for me.
So I reviewed the stats of several monitors, ranging from KDS and AOC on the low end to Sony and Iiyama on the high end. The winners for features and price were Samsung and ViewSonic.
So I started searching for bargains. I used pricegrabber.com to help me do my research, and I discovered the Samsung 955sl. It's a 19" with the pricetag and physical size of a 17". I bought it and have been 100% happy so far.
The picture is perfectly clear with no distortion, even at the edges. I also tested the performance limits by pushing the screen size and refresh rate up to their max (1600x1200 @ 68hz) and it performed great. The on-screen controls are easy to use and very configurable.
It comes with a 3-yr warranty, driver diskette, users manual, and warranty card. Best of all, it fits in the space left by my old 17" monitor.
