Pros:Great custom options, great components, well made computer.
Cons:None really, its up to you how you "make" your computer.
I've went to about every online computer manufacture's site, and Gateway won me. Be on the look out too, cause I bought my Gateway PC that included a $100 rebate, which made shipping cost free. Another reason to go with Gateway is that the online site offers a lot of "custom" options, which is needed. Look at my specs as of July 2000: PIII 733(coppermine), 128 PC133 ram, 20 gig 7200 rpm hard drive, SB live value soundcard, Geforce 32 mb DDR video card, BA735 speakers, 48X CD-ROM, 17-inch Mitsubishi Diamond Pro monitor(.25 pitch, flat) all for $1700. No company could offer a better deal then this since and I repeat since, Gateway offered that $100 rebate.
Orright if you dont know, the components on my Gateway rock. Also another reason to go with Gateway are their prices of their monitors. You can get a 21" Diamond Pro monitor for about $650, and at any store/online vendor they would price this monitor at $1000+, see the difference?good. Another reason to go with Gateway is the great warranty they offer, ohh yeah plus there yourware program.
So my advise to anyone out there on buying a new PC system is to go to hardware sites, heres some helpful links: www.cnet.com, www.sharkyextreme.com, www.pricewatch.com, www.zdnet.com. Also remember that Gateway won me over by that $100 rebate. . .
