I took a look at this site a couple of weeks ago because of the number of review on epinions.com. I was a little surprised to find that is was nothing more than a bulletin board. Based on the enthusiasm from fellow epinioners, I expected a lot more. Maybe a searchable database... or at least a little better control on the posts.
The first time I logged on, the first 50 or 60 messages were discussing status on their free pair of running shoes. The messages were randomly placed throughout the site rather than being threaded. This is not the sites fault, because the ability to response to specific messages is there. Users simple did not use this option. As I read the responses, I said to myself, I'd like a feel pair of sneakers. I thought, I will love this site if I can really get a free pair. After several minutes of looking (actually about 10), I discovered that the original post was nowhere to be found... at least I couldn't find it.
On visit number two, I saw a number of additional posts listing everything from certs to a free watch. I ordered the certs for the hell of it. I received a package containing three cents. Yep, a whole 3 certs. The watch never panned out. As well, a lot of other items never materialized as they were supposed to.
After looking at this site a couple more times, I have come to the following conclusion. This site is no better than every other freebe web site on the web. Its got its share of incorrect posts, good posts, and no so free posts. The only real difference appears to be the popularity. Everytime I go to the site there are many new posts. So... if you want freebies this is probably your best bet. Until they figure out a better way to organize the data or at least present the data, you are going to have to hunt for the deals. Or, if you have the time, return to the site daily to make sure that you can view the new posts in small enough posts.
