No connection is going to be faster in your home than ethernet. This kit will allow you to run your cable connection through two seperate computers, a huge plus. If you have high demands for download speeds, and network capabilities ethernet is STRONGLY recommended. I feel sorry for my friends that are stuck with there modem connections. There online options are extremely limited due to slow connection speeds. If you enjoy downloading demo games, mp3s, or sharing files with your friends over the network, then this is for you. The setup is somewhat complicated, but once you understand the basics you'll become a pro in no time.
