Napster is a software sharing program that allows computer user, via the internet to share music files.

(HOW TO GET IT AND INSTALL IT)
To get this free sharing software you simply go to www.Napster.com, and click on the download beta version program. You are then prompted to fill in some info, and then thats it. After this, youll have a napster software Icon on your desktop. Whne you want to download any song, you simply click on that, and in the search portion of the napster program put the song or artist you wish to download. The down load speed will vary on the connection speed that your using and the connection speed of the other user that has the song. Once the song is downloaded it will be stored in the downloaded file of the napster directory withing your computer. Another way of getting to the song is by clicking ont the library section of the napster software, and clicking on one of the existing downloaded songs.

Napster is a great program. Better than Scourexchange and others out on the net. The reason why I think this is becuase the Napster has a larger music selection (there is really no song you cant find). Another reaons I think this is the best music sharing software is because it lack any bugs.. Their beta version is bug proof, unlike scour exchange and others. And the way the software is written allows slow suffers (modem users) to search and download files.

Many people dont like the Idea of Napster. They say that it will erode record sales. I think this is not the truth. In reality Napster encourages people to buy records. Because people who hear a song on the radio and go to napster to down load that one songe would have not gone to a store and bought a whole cd for that song. But now because this person has that song which they love, they in turn will run out and tell their freinds how good that song is, which in turn will creat a demand for that artist. In reality Napster is another way of Artist to promote their image and name. Napster is no more braking the laws than a radio station braking the law because a listener is recording a song on tape that is playing on their radio band frequency. If you say that Napster is distroying the record industry, and should be stopped, then what you are reall saying is that stereo companies are also distroying the record sales by installing recording devises that allow the user to record music from the radio stations.
