Ever since the larger zip drives have hit the market, this great little gem has come down in price to make it affordable to everyone. For under one hundred dollars, you can backup your precious data to a couple of zip disks. It isn't as quick as some back up devices, but it is a lot less painful then starting your machine over from scratch. The instalation isn't the simplest, especially if you have a lot of other devices hooked up, but it isn't that painful on a normal PC. The software that comes with this unit is very self explaitory as far as operation of the drive. Within 20 minutes, you can have it conencted and running your first back up. The downside of the disks are just that, they are disks. Due to the moving parts in the disk that are open to the elemnts and dust, they do have the potential to fail if used on a daily basis, so I recomend using them strictly for backing things up. If you are using it to save regular data on, use a floppy and zip accrost it with the files.
