Napster Reborn?

Written: Dec 28 '00
Pros:Quick download, ability to stop and resume downloads, downloading music videos, etc, etc
Cons:None

In the modern world, it seems that everything is on the Internet. One can buy their groceries online or buy airplane tickets online. So, why not allow people to buy music CD's? That idea came and went. It seemed that people were not willing to pay the $19.00 and the shipping and handling charges that are commonplace for most CD orders, especially in an age when a gallon of gas costs almost $2.00 in some places. So, buying CDs online became a thing of the past. What followed was the biggest craze to hit the world since Tickle-Me-Elmo.

It was the music craver's dream. It allowed them to download music files from other people, share their own music files with people, and chat about the music world. Sound like someting we all know - Napster? It does, but wait there is more. It has the capability to allow people to download their favorite music videos and even pause and resume downloads even after it shuts down for some odd reason. Doesn't sound like Napster, anymore, does it? This is iMesh; a very similar concept but still novel in a way. The genesis of this idea is derived from the same mind that created Napster - the mind of a moneywise music lover.

After you download the 1.7 MB file from the site (www.imesh.com <-- Hence the original title. It is almost as original as the Dave Matthew's Band), you are set. Once you log on, you can download anything related to music from anybody online and using the program. Not many people know about it yet, and that is because Napster is still running. Once Napster dies (YES - It is as inevitable as Gore losing the election (both of which are a shame)), people will start searching for music again, and iMesh will be the answer. So my suggestion is that you people get on the ball early and download it now.

Another positive about it is that since many people don't know about it, you won't be kicked off because you have a Dr. Dre song or a Metallica song stuffed on your hard drive some place. However, it is as inevitable that this site, once it catches on, will get too big and then some poor soul is going to tell the music companies and the whole Napster fiasco will start all over again. However, so that you don't get stuck in a situation where you have nowhere to go and download your music from, I would suggest you do all your downloading now, and get iMesh. So much for my rattling on and on.

In conclusion, all I can say is that you better download iMesh before somebody decides to close that down as well.
