When I think of greeting cards, I often instinctively think "Hallmark". Perhaps this is the reason I instinctively typed in "Hallmark.com" into my web browser when I first started searching for on-line cards. I was unaware of most of the other on-line internet card services, and the ones I knew of were rather un-established, so I figured Hallmark.com would be the most trustworthy site.
I recently read an Epinion.com review of Hallmark e-cards that claimed they all came with a price tag. Not true. Rather, when you enter the site, you can choose between free and pay cards. I think the main difference between the two is mostly just selection choices. Each time I have visited Hallmark.com, I have opted for the free cards.
Although the variety for the free cards wasn't huge, it was still decent. I have never had to "settle" for a card that was so-so because it was free. Every time I've sent an e-card, I have been very pleased with its quality. Most of these cards feature cute music, and you can personalize it at no cost. Hallmark.com shows you a preview of your e-card, and then you can choose to send it from there.
Another nice feature Hallmark.com offers is they basically let you choose the exact time you want the card delivered. Once it is delivered, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that your card was sent.
I would definitely recommend Hallmark.com for on-line cards, but I wouldn't suggest paying for any. Stick with the free section, and if for some reason you don't like the selection, check out some of the other on-line card retailers.
