| snowatc's Full Review: Sony VAIO PCG-340 |
The PCG-340 is a great computer at a great price. I am a graduate student in California. My life has been so much easier since I bought my laptop. I can take it everywhere with me, on the road and at work I can bring all my homework with me. Sony does a great job of providing valuable software that for the price makes this laptop way above the rest. I have been also able to give class presentations on my computer and save high memory pictures to my hard drive that would have never worked if I tried transfering data from disk to disk. It is a bit heavy at times. Being a student and carrying the computer along with a few books can make you shoulder feel like it might fall off. It would also be nice if the software came with microsoft office 200. The battery capacity is pretty good and you can always take along the handy plug in and recharge anywhere. I bought my sony online at vaiodirect.com. They provide payment plans that any student could handle. I believe mine would have been around $24 a month. The vaio has a touch screen mouse that takes a little time to get use to, but the keyboard is no problem at all.
