5, but all free
Jul 19 '00
When i open an email account the first thing I look at, is it free? All of these are! Next I look at inbox size, because i get a lot of e-mail! Also i look for how professional it looks, what other interactive things can you do with the account, and how catchy the domain name is.
1.) Yahoo! Mail (http://www.mail.yahoo.com)
Yahoo! has always done an excelent job of being exciting, and catchy. You get 6 megabites of folder space. Also, you can change the color of the inbox to make it fit your personallity. When you sign up for Yahoo! Mail, you use thats same username for everything on Yahoo! including, chat, message boards, games, and auctions, without registering over and over.
2.) Excite Mail (http://www.excite.com)
Excite is very professional but brings out the old kid in you. You can change the picture on the start page to a cute little puppy, or interact in their chats. They give you 4 megabites of storage space. Also they give you a free voicemail number and account.
3.) Hotmail (http://www.hotmail.com)
Everyone has seen hotmail. it is a pretty good company. They are professional but not as much as yahoo!. This website also places tons of web banners all over your account. Hotmail changes their site arround quite a bit, so you never get used the the one thats there. The thing I like about Hotmail is they let you into special sections of egreatings, a internet greating card site. Also, they give you choices of stationary to write your messages on. Finally, ending on a good note, when sending emails to other people on Hotmail, they send it instantly! No waiting around.
~~~~~BAD~~~~~
4.) Juno (http://www.juno.com)
Juno is bearly professional. The only custimizing, you can do is change the font that your writing in. Thats it. They send you 2 advrotisement emails every day. The good side of Juno, is after it checks your email, is disconnects from the internet, while your writing your emails so your not clogging up the phone line. Finnally, they won't deliver any emails to you if you don't check your email for 30 days. Bad luck if you go on vacation.
I'm not putting a 5th email account down because it seems like there arn't any good,free email accounts out there.
