Another One Bites the Dust - Pointclick - No More CashMar 29 '00 Write an essay on this topic.No more cash payouts from Pointclick after April 4. The daily maximu is now down to just $5. Payment for clicks just dropped from 8 cents down to 5 cents. Pointclick has become infamous for its frequent changes in plans and payouts, but this one is the worse. What attracted many people to its site was the promise of cold, hard cash - you know that stuff used for paying the rent and buying food. Each month the amount of cash you could earn on Pointclick DROPPED, but still there was that promise of being able to earn a little cash each month. That is now gone. Hidden away on the back pages of the site, under the terms "Cash Out" you will find a statement saying that you can cash out your account only until April 4, and after that, whatever you earn on Pointclick - can only be redeemed by spending it through Pointclick. By the way, make sure you read all the fine print of their "Terms of Service" - there is also a little, itty bitty clause there that states that not all of the sites linked from Pointclick are eligible for redemption. Be sure to check their list of stores BEFORE buying anything, they will not pay you a cent unless the name of that store is on their "special" list. Check it out carefully. Did Pointclick notify their membership of these drastic changes???? No way. On March 28, they did send out an e-mail to many of their members telling them they would be offering a 10 percent discount when buying things through Pointclick, but NOWHERE in the letter did it state that they were stopping cash payments, dropping the rate for clicking on sites or limiting the daily maximum to $5. Guess they don't think much of their members. Is this the type of company you want to deal with? Not for me. I cashed out my account tonight and won't be back. I don't like dealing with groups that like to hide their facts.  |
