I understand your point of view, but you must realize: The G4, AMD, and Pentium are all rather different processors. Even though the G4 is 'frozen' at 500, and the others are now breaking 1+ Ghz, the differences in the processors make up for some/most of it. Besides, with the new Dual G4 Processors out, they are the best of the best when coming to video rendering, and soon even better with OS X. The DP G4 beat the snot out of a Dell Dual Pentium III 1 Ghz in the dual processor category, but, I admit, it lost in the single processor category. So, in the end, it's all preference. Good article.
