FreeDonation.com is a carbon copy of what The Hunger Site looked like in it's infancy, and that's a good thing! Like it's bigger older brother, this site is trying to channel the seemingly endless pools of aimless websurfers towards a noble purpose. The site donates 100% of the money it receives from advertisers to worthy charities that work to help children.
I think that it's a wonderful sign that people are finally realizing that the bottomless ad budgets to be found on the Internet can actually do good, and I think that it is every netizens responsibility to do something productive that benefits someone other than themselves. The Internet can make charity and volunteerism as easy as a 5 second visit to a website, what more incentive do we need? If nothing else, every day I visit the site I think about those less fortunate and feel like helping...and that in itself is a step in the right direction!
At the moment the site only attracts between 3-6 advertisers per day, but as traffic increases to FreeDonation.com I would hope that the number would increase greatly, allowing all of us to help a child everyday, just with the click of a mouse.
