| Gatortrader's Full Review: Mindspring |
I've used Mindspring's service for over 3 years now and can not remember the last time I couldn't get online. Of course the service could be slightly different in other parts of the country but it works great in the Orlando area. I use the Internet to do much of my work as a stock trader and to write a newsletter 3 times per week so a good connection is crucial to my work. I've never had a problem getting on for my newsletter and have even convinced other writers to use Mindspring because they noticed I was never "down". Most people I know that trade full time have backup ISP's in case their main one goes down. Fortunately for me, I haven't had to cough up the extra money to do this.
I'm going to a cable modem soon for increased speed with another company because I'm moving but I will keep my Mindspring account as a backup. Mindspring does have ADSL access but it is not yet available in my area. I will considering switching to that when it comes available. Mindspring is a great service and they have access around the country. I've been able to connect to my account without long distance charges in several cities around the country (their access number list is in the thousands).
By the way, my connection is on over 300 hours per month so I have a good idea of how good the service is. Even though they send me emails about excessive use, they won't do anything because I'm just doing my work.
