An Excellent Opinion; but... (Reply to this comment)

I liked your writing style and opinion. However, don't you think Outlook Express is an excellent free mail program that not only performs well but includes a variety of features. Also, if more people were educated about viruses wouldn't the spread of email-attachment viruses go down??

With all of these problems wit Outlook, I think I'll pass on trying it out.
Thanks for the warning!

Glad you enjoyed it! And I'm glad you escaped unscathed at home. Many were not so smart or so lucky.
Mahalo for the comments.

Unfortunately (Reply to this comment)

Unfortunately, many of us don't have the luxury of choosing our e-mail programs. The company I work for uses Microsoft Outlook as its corporate e-mail client, along with Microsoft Exchange Server. We were badly infected by both "Melissa" and the "I Love You" virus.
By contrast on my own home machine, I use both web-based accounts and Outlook Express and had no problem with either of the recent pernicious bugs. That is simply because I routinely delete e-mail from people I do not know and NEVER open attachments unless I know the person sending them.
Thanks for your well-written review.

Man, you are so right. I use Hotmail and have never had a problem.
I've got my firewall, antivirus software, and I scan every day at lunch time!
Gotta have a plan, Stan.
Thanks for the info.
