Among some very technical reviews, I want to keep this one as close to english as possible. First off, just to clear up, I don't own a 3dfx brand Voodoo3. Mine is made by Powercolor (based in Taiwan), is clocked at 183MHz (ie the speed of the 3dfx Voodoo3 3500), but does not have TV features or anything else but a normal VGA video out. It's an AGP version. Unlike the 3dfx cards, this one sports a small heatsink WITH fan (3dfx boards just have large heatsinks, not sure about the 3500s though).
Anyway, on with this review. This board is geared to consumers with a low budget, but who want to get some nice gaming in. It lacks some important features, such as 32-bit colour, and some "not so important" (ie not as relevant -- yet) features such as Hardware T&L and FSAA which are present in Voodoo5s.
The V3 is processor dependant, in that if you increase the CPU speed by the same amount in a system sporting a voodoo3 and another sporting a GeForce, for example, the V3 will gain more than the GeForce.
Overall, the board is a good one. No major problems, can handle most of today's games with a decent CPU backing it (600+, I'm guessing). I had excellent overclockability with my board running its AGP slot at 85MHz and the V3 working just fine. I haven't tried overclocking the V3s internal clock yet. If you're a serious gamer, pass this up for a new Geforce 2 or Voodoo5. Casual gamers will appreciate this board. I give this board an 8/10.
