emachine? or Ecoli?

This was my first home computer and at first I complained not. After all, it was free! my brother had gotten it for me on one of those internet free PC deals and I was grateful and naive. He had gotten a higher powered emachine and had no problems (he is a programmer though)so I assumed the problem was me *smile*. Eventually it became apparent it was the machine, shutting down, I kid you not, 20 times in an hour. Then the modem fried.
First, they sent us a new modem, OK for a bit. Then the shutting down got progressively worse and when you are trying to build a web page that drives you nuts! I saved a lot but still,I had to redo a lot also. We called and wrote, we e-mailed and we called some more. Finally they sent us a new machine entirely! I must admit it does work better than the old but it certainly still has problems! It is slow, after all, it's only a 333 MHZ and it still shuts down but not nearly as much. The modem is fixed because they put a different type in this one!
All in all? I suppose for the price I paid I'm satisfied. After all, you can't get something for nothing right? Since I paid nothing I don't complain much but I don't recommend this one to others either.
