I used to like Netcom, before they merged with Mindspring. Let me tell you why.........
When they were just Netcom, I never had a busy signal with them, never. While all my friends were dialing and redialing there isps trying to get on the internet, one call was all I ever had to place. Then Mindspring came along and took Netcom. Sometimes I am trying to dial up for 30 minutes, yes 30 minutes. That's my limit of trying before I give up and let me tell you, I've had to give up several times lately with them. Yes, they've added new dial up numbers for Mindspring customers, but if you still have the Netcom account, good luck. There have also been several times that their email was not working in the last few months. I never had that problem with Netcom before.
The only reason that I have not switched isps is that I will be moving shortly and I didn't want to have to change twice. I can assure you, though, that I will not be using Mindspring or Netcom when I move. I have read of people that are happy with Mindspring, but I do not like the fact that they don't take care of the old, original customers that were with Netcom. They will not get any further business from me, and I don't even need to tell me friends about the problems with them as they have already experienced them themselves and have changed their isps. Maybe in other states the service is better, but not in the tri-state area.
