| Russhoolio's Full Review: Genius Easy Pen |
I do the occasional digital imaging. And as anyone who has tried to use the lasso tool in photoshop, a mouse just doesn't cut it. So in August 99 I bought a Genius EasyPen 3x4 tablet. I was really happy to have such a useful tool! So I plugged it in and installed the software, etc. The first thing I noticed was that it now took about twice as long for my computer to start. Once I started using the tablet things got a bit sketchy. At first I had a hard time making the buttons do anything at all. Then once they started to do something, they either did it in fits and starts or just kept on doing it, even after I let go. For instance when using the paintbrush tool, IF I could get it to work, there was a very good chance that it would just keep right on painting whether I wanted it to or not. I contacted Genius-Kye about this and they sent me an email telling me how to get an RMA # for a replacement. I did as the instructions said and never heard from them again. I have contacted them twice since then and still have heard nothing. It is now only a few days to Y2K. My Easypen sits in it's box waiting for a signal from the mothership.
