A new experience

Well if you have ever been to any new high school or university, you have experienced the raw speed and power of T1. T1 is a very fast connection indeed. The only thing about it though is they split it between all the different computers so it slows down a lot during peak hours. Now what if you could sit at home and never have to worry about what other people where doing ever again?
That is what I did. I used to download huge files at school and put them on to zip disks, but now I have cable and let me tell you it is fast. If I find a fast server I download at 360K per second, amazing. Usually, though, it is toned down to a mere 160k a second (hahaha a mere). In fact that is better than I get on those shared T1's anyhow. Plus I don't have to put up with some fool sitting next to me down loading the Internet and hogging my bandwidth.
I once had Adsl and I must say cable is much better than Dsl. For the same price I was paying for dsl, I experience twice the bandwidth. Usually on dsl I downloaded at 80k and once in a great time 120k, that’s minimum for me now on cable. I have heard of faster dsl connections. In fact I have heard of some that are 360k just like my cable is. I haven't actually used those, but I don't need to. One thing I didn't like about my dsl was the fact that is was so unstable. One day I could connect fine and the next, the router would be down, which means that I am out of luck. I have only had one day when my cable was down for more than 10 min. So in terms of speed and reliability, cable had dsl beat (for now that is, that could all change).
And as for modem users... The movement to cable would be like upgrading you horse to a lamborgunie. The Internet becomes a whole new world when you get cable. You know those files that were 28 Meg; you say to yourself "do I have 2 days to download that?" Now, it is literally minutes until that file is done. The speed is radically fast compared to a modem. My old 56k modem ISP put me out about 20$ a month. My cable costs exactly $55.55 (after tax). So for a few extra dollars a month I get a whole new world of things to waste my time on.
And for gamers, cable is a must. On counter strike, my average ping is about 80. And a good ping is about 30. No joke or exaggeration it is that low. My dsl still had me up at around 150, and it would get as low as 100. For gamers nothing compares to cable (don't say T1, you can't afford it).
And if cable isn't available in your area, dsl is good enough. When I first got dsl, I was very happy with it. It is very, very, very, fast as well. It is the difference between a 800Mhts processor and 1000mhts, they are very fast, but one is faster. And if both are running the same price, might as well get the faster one.
Most places are giving away the modem so they can get you addicted (reminds me of crack dealers). So sign up right away or you will have to buy that $200 modem.
Hope this was helpful, give me a comment if I left something out. I have a lot of head knowledge about the subject.
