Call me a hippie, but I like the underdogs. Why buy an overpriced Intel chip when AMD will do just as well? I got an AMD K6-2 500 chip, a top of the line in the K6-2's. I love it. It hasn't caused a problem since I popped it in the motherboard. It's worked great, it's very stable. I honestly haven't been able to crash it, and I sure as heck tried. I once had 12 mp3's decoding into wav's at once, just to see if it could pull it off, plus ms word, outlook express, ie5 and the cd player running at the same time. It pulled it off without a hitch. I highly recommend this chip to anyone considering upgrading their system.
