After 3 years with mindspring I would consider myself a pretty loyal customer. I originally moved to mindspring when Netcom and Mindspring merged.Then out of no where Mindspring merged with Earthlink!! Now explain this one to me. If they merged wouldn't you think since all of the new company information is now Earthlink-Mindspring, they would share the dial up lines??? That answer is a big FAT NO!!!
I live in a very high traffic area, South Florida. And most of the time when I try to get a connection, I either am at 19000 or I get a busy signal. I don't understand it. If there are 3 ISPS running together wouldn't they share the same lines? I mean it doesn't make sense that in an area like mine they actually only have 1 line for 56k and 1 line for 33.6k either. I mean What am I paying 19.95 a month for? Heck most other companies are less expensive now. So why can't mindspring keep up????
The greatest part about it all is that at the end of the month if you have used too many minutes they write you this nasty slap on the wrist email saying we cannot afford to have you as a customer if you stay using the Internet like this because you use it too much!!! Now don't ask ..why don't you change to a new ISP. Because for anyone who has changed after years of service with an ISP knows, letting everyone know your new email address isn't exactly fun!!
I just wish Earthlink-Mindspring would buckle up and fix all the problems, make up its mind and become what they once were again, A GREAT SERVICE PROVIDER!!!
