As an ex employee of a retail store that sells EMachines I would be most honoured to say EMachines SUCK!
Is it really worth it, spending so little amount of money for something your most likely to return and buy something else.
While i worked at this retail store, (not mentioning names, but you could most likely guess) I saw more Emachines get returned or sent in for service than any other product. That is a lot considering we had an average of like 50-75 pieces of merchandise returned a day.
Most of the problems were that the computers would not start up. Faulty Start up disks. a lot of crashing, freezing up and defective hard drives. Not to mention that the software included didn't work either.
Around Christmas i must of saw at least 40 returned a day. Thats right, a day. Not every day but most days.
I remember a fellow who bought one and brought it back for service a week later. He didn't want a new one, he needed that one fixed. He apparently stored a VERY important document on the hard drive. It was sent out and came back a week later. The service tag said that it was fixed. Well the guy was back that day practicly in tears saying it wasn't fixed. Poor guy, maybe he will buy something with better quality now.
In conclusion I can not recommend these computers, even though the price is great, The are not worth the trouble.
