This website allows you to call long distance free of charge while connected to the internet. It works best if you have a direct connection, but my friend uses this on her dial-up and it's not bad at all. I do not recommend this for those with slow computers. Essentially you just go to the website, open up an account and dial a number, you then speak to them through your computers mic and hear their voice through your speakers. This can cause be problematic at times with feedback and can be troublesome for all parties involved to hear the conversation. This problem can easily be solved with the purchase of a headset. They go for cheap and well you're not paying for longdistance anymore, so it's practically pays for itself.

So basically when you can't find free phone cards on the web, just go to dialpad. Sure you have to look at a couple ads, and feel dorky by talking to people using your computer, but it's free!
