Scoutj's Full Review: Handspring Visor Edge Handheld
I admit it, it made my day when I got home and hooked up my new Visor to the computer and hit that Hot Sync button for the first time and I heard that little melody! "bee dee deeee!" Nothing is more fun than a new *toy*.
I love this little organizer so much. It is easy to use, and it has really been helpful in the past weeks in keeping me better organized. It is very easy to use, especially if you just enter information on to your computer. Otherwise you just need to learn the basic graffiti (handwriting) in order to enter it right into the handheld unit.
I spent about 4 hours total, entering all of my addresses and phone numbers, my school calendar (I am a teacher) and within 20 seconds it was all HotSynced into the Visor from my computer. It really came in handy when my husband had emergency surgery and I had all the phone numbers I needed right in my wallet! I went to Coach and got a really cool wallet that my Visor fits right into so I have it with me everywhere.
I like that you have numerous options in which to enter your information such as - a floating note, an appointment, a task, a daily journal, or even into an expense account. The only thing that took me a bit to learn was that it is listed a bit differently on the computer vs on the handheld.
The most convenient thing is how easy it is to enter in repeated events such as Birthdays! You simply enter it in as an event banner on the computer and then just click the box that says repeated annually. Then, you can even have it remind you 5 days (or whatever you chose) ahead so that you can remember to get that card in the mail in time!! No more missed or belated birthdays from me anymore!
So, if you are looking at a Palm Pilot, save an extra 100.00 and get a much cooler looking handheld organizer in the color of your choice because it is the same exact thing. (The Palm V is comparable) The same Palm downloads will work on your Visor!!
