Have you ever tried to log onto napster and you always get disconnected because the server is too full. Or the napster server is down and you cannot conenct to download your favorite songs. Well there is an answer for you. It is called Napigator

There aren't a lot of people that are familiar with Napster or Napigator.
They do not realize that there are several different servers that you connect to. There are also different styles of Napster servers. There are the standard Napster servers. Aswell as OpenNap, MyNapster just to name a few.

When you start the napigator program, it will bring up a list of servers that are running. It will show you a few statistics. The 2 most important stats to look at are these. The number of people connected, and the ping time. These are important because 1. the more people connected to a server means more of a song selection for you. 2. Ping time tells you what server has the quickest connection. The lower the ping time the better.

The Best Feature of Napigator

This is a great function of Napigator that is not documented anywhere on the Napigator site.

Ok, you connect to the server of your choice, you find a couple of songs that you want to download and you do so. There arent any more songs you want to download, however your downloads are only 30% finished. You want to search for more songs. Here is the answer....

Keep Napigator running while Napster is running. Bring up Napigator, find a server and double click on that server. You will notice that you have been connected to a new server. Now go look at your downloads. YOu will see that they are still downloading from the other server that you just left. Now search for even more music while the songs are still downloading.


Ok on a side note. I have noticed that there is a problem with the Napigator file that you download. If you get a unknown extension error when you try to run the setup. rename the file on DOS mode to Install.exe
And it should install normally.
