My First Computer (at Home)
Oct 08 '00
Back in May of 2000, I purchased my first Home Computer. I took a long time to buy one; going through many of the “should I? – Shouldn’t I?” questions a lot of us have asked ourselves when facing the decision of whether to purchase “a computer for home use”.
For the past 15 years, I have used good, bad & excellent computer systems at work without even knowing what I was doing. Just learning on my own, trial & error.
A State agency I worked for bought everyone new Gateway computers. I had heard some really bad press at that time (that they crashed a lot). I kept seeing the “Gateway” advertisements and knew, with what little I had worked with them at work, that they in fact had not crashed immediately or shortly thereafter.
I tried to locate a computer set-up locally at one of the computer stores, but, I wasn’t getting what I wanted, for the price & financing I wanted. So, finally I called the Toll-free number. I am really glad I did!! My life has been so enriched in so many ways.
My Gateway computer does all the things I want it to and I am really happy with it. Of course I don’t know about all the new technical stuff, but, when I want to Chat, Shop, Surf, or work at home, my computer is there for me and it works wonderfully!
My thanks to Gateway for having the foresight to meet computer type requirements I didn’t even know I was going have!
