Brief History and Comments about the manufacturer.
Every year, a plethora of new products enter the US marketplace and buyers are one again awed by the amazing breakthroughs in technological advancements. The IBM Microdrive (the 1GB model specifically) is one of those products. However, it is not just here for a brief moment in history. It will remain a marvel of physics and engineering (something IBM is known to create) for many years to come.
Why I purchased this product:
I personally intend to use the Microdrive in my Casio E-125 PocketPC handheld device, which has the ability to fully contain and utilize Compact Flash Type I & II cards like the Microdrive. This product fills the cost-effective void for mobile storage that many executives and engineers require in their mobile PocketPC/Digital-Camera devices. It is, megabyte-for-megabyte, the lowest-priced storage solution on the market today for the PocketPC.
Who would benefit from this product:
Executives, engineers, and consumers who need mass storage capability for their mobile devices.
Why purchase this over the competition:
The IBM Microdrive is the best solution for mass storage in the PocketPC. It is overall a veryy solid design, with a great deal of engineering know-how packed into an extremely small device. It has no competition.
Products that work best with the Microdrive:
The Casio E-125, E-115, and E-105 Pocket PCs.
