We purchased our computer as a package deal, monitor, printer, scanner computer all for around 1000.00. After the nightmare of buying it,(read epinion on Damark International) we finally received it, and set it up.
I was surprised at the ease of setup, having never had a computer before. The computer walked us through the installation of the drivers and programs for the printer and scanner.
But, since the initial setup, the Lexmark has on MANY occasions, stopped printing, and proceeded to uninstall it's own software, leaving me in the middle of a print job, without a working printer. I then have to stop, reinstall the software, and purge the projects waiting to be printed. This will sometimes fix it, and sometimes not! Many times, I have to completely shut down the computer, restart, and then reinstall!
I haven't had experience with other printers, but I've never known anyone who has had this kind of problems, so I feel it's a Lexmark thing!
I was talking to our insurance agent, whom I was trying to print some things for, and in the end, just sent him the disk with the info on it, and he said that he has heard that Lexmarks can be troublesome, so I fell it isn't just me being simple, and not doing things right.
All in all, I am in the market now for a printer that isn't a Lexmark, and am checking out the epinions of others on the printers they have.
