About Me: I'm having a nervous breakdown.

No, I can't think of any puns using the word Excite.

Pros:Flawless, reliable service, highly customizable
Cons:The voicemail number isn't very professional, no more adult clubs *purrrr* :)

Update:9/3 Excite is definitely my news, email, chat and club, horroscope tip of the day default everything for my internet needs. Of all the email servers out there, Excite has definitely won my user-ship.

When I first started using Excite it had a lot of problems. I had only used their services to join some clubs. Whenever I'd try to access one, I'd get that "Something's awry" message. I didn't like them much. However, when I broke away from AOL, I decided I wanted an e-mail account with every major free company out there. Yahoo, hotmail, excite, etc. I signed up with Excite and began using them for junk mail. However, I began to noticed I liked Excite much more than Hotmail or Yahoo. I made a new account at Excite that day.

Excite is probably the neatest and most customizable e-mail service available. You can choose your color content, as well as what you'd like to appear on your start page. You can also choose the welcoming they give you (Welcome, Chloe!) Mine says "Lookin' Good, Chloe!) And you know, on your birthday, they even say "Happy Birthday, Chloe!" You can also pick your color scheme (I chose a myriad of grey's and lavenders and blues, as well as choose the icon that appears next to new mail. You can personalize the things that show up on your start page, like Weather, Stocks, Entertainment, Horoscope, quotes of the day and Daily Living Tips.

One thing I really enjoy about excite is that when you go to your start page, they usually tell you if you have e-mail or not, so you don't have to waste time logging in just to find out that your email box is dry. If you have email, the text by the email icon expresses "You have Mail!" If not, a simple "Check mail" message appears.

Excite is much more than e-mail. You get free voicemail too! I never use my voice mail because I don't have a need for it and I don't particularly like it. If someone would like to leave you a voice mail, they have to do it through an extention of the 1-800-EXCITE... number, which I don't find too professional. I'll just use my beeper.

Excite offers a search engine as well, although no matter what you search, you get porn by the fifth link. Excite used to have adult-geared clubs (and a wide variety too I must add, blushing :)) but they took those down as of August 21st. Yes, yes I'm disappointed. I mean, with a name like Excite (and a slogan, "Turn You On") I sort of thought they'd keep the clubs. Awww well, I guess I better start joining some wholesome clubs too (making it ideal for kids)

Excite is simple to use, which is great for kids. My 12 year old brother gets it, and he never gets anything ("How do I download? Yeah I did, where's the file! They said I needed shockwave. I have it installed. No, stop yelling at me!") and then he cries like a baby--literally. He's got problems. I don't want to get into that now. Excite is great for him. I personalized his colors to a green-theme (he loves green) and even altered his welcome message to something only a twelve year old boy would find funny. He doesn't get regular e-mail, but he does like to go there because I enabled the "top 10 albums of the week" module, as well as latest downloads and weather (although he could care less about the weather...he's too busy downloading).

Excite is more personal than Hotmail, which is rather bland, and Yahoo, which is equally as bland. And it's RELIABLE. Whenever my friends send me something at Excite, I get it right away, unless they screwed up somehow (and they always screw up because they're on AOL) Excite is free--AOL is not. Excite offers a better e-mail service than AOL does. It's not an internet service provider, but it DOES offer a free Internet Service Provider...FreeLane or something. However, I can't comment on that, although it is offered for a Mac. I am on a private ISP, one provided by my father's place of work. The fact that Excite now offers Mac stuff...I mean, it's great, that unbiased great service that they are. Nothing is available for Mac...it's because we're the chosen platform :)

Excite can't be beat. Not by a pay service, not by a free service. The options are limitless. I love Excite, but I still can't come up with a stupid pun to show how much I love them (Excite is so exciting. It excites me! I'm so excited by excite!!!) Instead...I'll just say they're good. Take my word for it buddy :)
