cs21's Full Review: Handspring Visor Edge Handheld
When I was deciding what sort of PDA I should get my soon to be college bound cousin I was originally debating over whether I should get a Palm III or a Palm V. It happened by chance that I stumbled across the Handspring Visor. Actually when I first saw it, I thought that it was just cheap rip off of the Palm III. However, once I began doing serious research I found that the Visor is the best PDA device available, and that it was created by executives that had left Palm, so the likeness was intentional and they designed it to be smaller than a Palm III.
What makes the Visor more unique than other PDA's is the ability to add plug-ins (Springboard Modules) that literally transform your device into more than a schedule book, memo pad and calculator, but into an mp3 player, game player, and heck it even becomes a pager. I also found the add-ons that were common to both the Palm and the Visor, ie. keyboard, were actually cheaper on the Visor.
The regular Visor (2 mb) holds 6000 addresses, 1500 to do things and memos, and 200 e-mails, while the more luxurious Deluxe Visor (8 mb and choice of color) holds 12000 addresses, 6000 to do things and memos, and 400 e-mails. It is also pen based (stylus) and runs off Palm OS.
2 MB RAM stores thousands of addresses, appointments, to-do items, and memos Fast synchronizing for your USB-equipped PC or Macintosh Fully compatible...More at Amazon Marketplace
