I tried the demo called Uplink and I simply loved it. It was a scary trip where you played as Gordan Freeman, a scientest of the Black Mesa research building and somthing has gone wrong. Apperently, aliens from another dimentsion have somehow reached this planet, and mostly this building and it is your job to escape, fight the aliens and the government troops sent to kill any human who knows about this "accident".

When I got the retail game, it was the best FPS I played in a while. You fight through out the building trying to escape, then you go to the dimention where the ailens came from. It is a really scary game, troops run into the room killing everything in their sights, aliens run around the corner, floors breaking under you, and all this without any cut-seens. You ARE Gordan, there is no point in this game where you don't feel like that YOU are the main character.

I would usally say that the multi-player mode is better but you can't get the tense-fulness from the single player mode.
