Window ME...What a WASTE !!Sep 23 '00 Write an essay on this topic.Well I decided that I had to install Windows ME. Now that I have seen Windows ME I have come to the conclusion that unless you are buying a new PC with Windows ME preloaded it is a waste of your MONEY. If you currently have Windows 98 then just go to Microsoft's web site and get the free updates and you will get the majority of what is on windows ME for free. I found that the internet explorer 5 was standard, that is a free upgrade for windows 98, windows Media player standard, also free upgrade for windows 98. I could go on and on about all the differences that are standard and then come back with the fact you can get a free upgrade to that version of software that would not make windows 98 an equal OS with out spending the $98. The only thing you might have to pay for is the win 98 plus pak and that is still less than $98. My recommendation do not upgrade until you have to or you are buying a new PC and it is preloaded. I say that this is a good OS but not worth the money. Would not recommend anyone buy the upgrade even if it is a good product it is just not worth the money. Windows ME deserves 1 star as an upgrade and 4 star as a pre-installed OS.  |
